Tryptase is the major neutral protease present in mast cells and is secreted upon the coupled activation-degranulation response of this cell type. May play a role in innate immunity. Isoform 2 cleaves large substrates, such as fibronectin, more efficiently than isoform 1, but seems less efficient toward small substrates (PubMed:18854315).

    Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded Human skeletal muscle tissue labeling Mast Cell Tryptase with ab315263 at 1/100 (5.0 ug/ml).

    Negative control: no staining on human skeletal muscle. The section was incubated with ab315263 for 60 mins at room temperature (shown in red). Nuclear DNA was labeled with DAPI (shown in blue). The section was then mounted using Fluoromount®. The immunostaining was performed on a Leica Biosystems BOND RX instrument. Image was taken with a confocal microscope (Leica-Microsystems, TCS SP8).
