Flow cytometric analysis of 4% PFA-fixed, 90% methanol-permeabilized JAR cells labeling Prostaglandin E Receptor EP2/PTGER2 with ab246778 at 1/500 dilution (red) compared with ab199093 Rabbit IgG, monoclonal [EPR25A] - Isotype Control (Alexa Fluor® 647) (Black) and an unlabeled control (cells without incubation with primary antibody and secondary antibody) (blue).

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Alexa Fluor® 647 Anti-Prostaglandin E Receptor EP2/PTGER2 antibody [EPR8030(B)] (AB246778)
ab246778 staining Prostaglandin E Receptor EP2 in JAR cells. The cells were fixed with 4% formaldehyde (10 min), permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 for 5 minutes and then blocked with 1% BSA/10% normal goat serum/0.3M glycine in 0.1% PBS-Tween for 1h. The cells were then incubated overnight at +4°C with ab246778 at 1/50 dilution (shown in red) and ab195887, Mouse monoclonal to alpha Tubulin (Alexa Fluor® 488), at 1/250 dilution (shown in green). Nuclear DNA was labeled with DAPI (shown in blue).

Biological function summary
The EP2 receptor plays a role in vasodilation immune modulation and regulation of pain and inflammation. It does not act as part of a large protein complex but rather exerts its effects individually through its coupling with G-proteins. EP2 receptor stimulation results in smooth muscle relaxation and has implications in neuroinflammation and renal function.
Pathways
The EP2 receptor is involved in the prostaglandin signaling pathway and contributes to the inflammatory response pathway.
