Function

Inhibits the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway, probably by recruiting CTNNB1 to recycling endosomes and hence preventing its translocation to the nucleus.

Notes

ab249688 is the carrier-free version of Anti-Angiomotin like 1 antibody [EPR11803-97] ab171976.

Mouse, Rat: We have preliminary internal testing data to indicate this antibody may not react with these species. Please contact us for more information.

Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.

This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Activity summary

Angiomotin like 1 (AMOTL1) also known as Angiomotin-like protein 1 is a member of the angiomotin family known for its role in angiogenesis. This protein has a molecular mass of approximately 90 kDa and is expressed in various tissues including endothelial cells. AMOTL1 interacts with other proteins to influence cell shape and migration by maintaining the integrity of tight junctions and actin cytoskeleton organization.

Biological function summary

Angiomotin-like protein 1 plays a role in regulating cell proliferation and migration. AMOTL1 associates with the angiomotin protein complex which includes angiomotin and angiomotin like 2 (AMOTL2). The protein has functions in signaling pathways that are important for tissue architecture and cellular polarity. AMOTL1 facilitates the localization and stabilization of other cell signaling proteins to coordinate these complex biological processes effectively.

Pathways

Angiomotin like protein 1 is involved in the Hippo signaling pathway a critical regulator of cell growth and apoptosis. In this pathway AMOTL1 interacts with proteins such as YAP/TAZ acting as a spatial regulator that limits their activity within the nucleus. Another important pathway involving AMOTL1 is the tight junction pathway where it helps maintain cell-cell adhesion and tissue integrity by interacting with ZO-1 and other structural proteins.

Associated diseases and disorders

Angiomotin-like protein 1 has been linked to cancer progression particularly in breast and liver cancers. AMOTL1 influences tumor cell migration and invasion by modulating the localization of YAP/TAZ proteins. Additionally studies have shown a relation to vascular diseases as AMOTL1 affects endothelial cell function and angiogenesis potentially connecting it to disorders like atherosclerosis. Understanding these relationships may aid in developing targeted therapies for these conditions.
