Product details

ab236013 is the carrier-free version of ab178425.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

ARL15 also known as ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 15 is a member of the ARF family of GTPases. This small GTP-binding protein weighs about 21 kDa. ARL15 resides mainly in the cytoplasm but its expression is also notable in adipose tissue and the pancreas. Mechanical interaction of ARL15 with membranes and other molecules is characteristic for proteins in the ARF family indicating a role in cellular functions that involve vesicle trafficking or membrane remodeling.
Biological function summary

ARL15 influences metabolic processes and signaling pathways. It integrates into multiprotein complexes that regulate various cellular activities. Research suggests its involvement in lipid metabolism and adipogenesis playing a role in the regulation of insulin sensitivity. These biological functions make ARL15 significant for maintaining cellular energy balance and metabolic homeostasis.

Pathways

ARL15 engages with two central pathways: the insulin signaling pathway and lipid metabolism. It influences these pathways by interacting with key proteins such as IRS1 in insulin signaling which impacts glucose uptake and energy regulation. Additionally in lipid metabolism ARL15 associates with proteins that control fatty acid oxidation and storage contributing to the overall lipid balance within the cell.

ARL15 has connections to type 2 diabetes and obesity. People with altered expression levels of ARL15 often exhibit changes in insulin sensitivity linking it to the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes. ARL15 also interacts with PPARγ a protein highly involved in fat tissue development and implicated in obesity. These interactions indicate potential pathways through which ARL15 influences metabolic conditions making it a target of interest for disease research.
