Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

The ASFV p54 also known as pEP153R is a structural protein of African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) with a mass of approximately 25 kDa. It is expressed on the surface of the virus functioning as an important component for the virus life cycle. ASFV p54 protein plays a central role in virus attachment and entry into the host cells. It interacts with specific host receptors facilitating the fusion of the virus with cellular membranes and allowing viral particles to enter the host cell cytoplasm.
ASFV p54 contributes to viral replication and assembly within the infected host cells. It does not function alone but is part of a larger protein complex that includes several other viral proteins. This complex is important for the architecture and stability of the viral envelope ensuring that newly synthesized viral particles are properly formed and can efficiently infect other cells.
ASFV p54 plays an important part in pathways related to viral invasion and immune evasion. It is involved in interactions that help suppress host immune responses granting the virus an advantage in persisting within the host. The functions of ASFV p54 are closely tied to those of other structural proteins like p30 which also participate in the processes of viral adhesion and immune system modulation.
ASFV p54 is directly associated with African Swine Fever a devastating disease affecting domestic and wild pigs. The function of ASFV p54 makes it a target of interest in understanding the mechanisms of ASFV pathogenesis. This protein interacts with viral components such as the B646L (p72) protein which is implicated in virulence and the disease severity. Targeting ASFV p54 through research or vaccine development may help control the spread of this highly contagious disease in swine populations.

Non-transfected (–) and transfected (+) 293T whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 15% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with ASFV p54 antibody [GT853] (ab308411) diluted at 1/5000. The HRP-conjugated anti-mouse IgG antibody was used to detect the primary antibody.
All lanes: Western blot - Anti-ASFV p54 antibody [GT853] (ab308411) at 1/5000 dilution
Lane 1: Non-transfected (–) 293T whole cell extracts at 30 µg
Lane 2: Transfected (+) 293T whole cell extracts at 30 µg
All lanes: HRP-conjugated anti-mouse IgG antibody
Immunohistochemical analysis of African swine fever virus envelope protein p54 transfected HEK293T cell FFPE Cell Pellet Block labeling ASFV p54 (green) using ab308411 at 1/1000 dilution. Antigen retrival was performed using Citrate buffer, pH 6.0, 15 min
For immunofluorescence analysis, mock and transfected HEK293T cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at room temperature for 15 minutes and permeabilized for detection of ASFV p54 using ab308411 at 1/1000 dilution (green). Blue: Fluoroshield with DAPI.
