Interpolated concentration of native alpha 1 Sodium Potassium ATPase was measured at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : Neuro-2a cell extract (25 ug/mL) and SH-SY5Y cell extract (200 ug/mL). The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in antibody diluent CP2 (ab319981). Data represented here are indicative of assay working using example of biological sample. However, we do not guarantee same sensitivity level due to biological variation.

This is the catalytic component of the active enzyme, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of sodium and potassium ions across the plasma membrane. This action creates the electrochemical gradient of sodium and potassium ions, providing the energy for active transport of various nutrients (By similarity). Could also be part of an osmosensory signaling pathway that senses body-fluid sodium levels and controls salt intake behavior as well as voluntary water intake to regulate sodium homeostasis (PubMed : 17408578).
