Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-Aurora B antibody [3F11] (AB315204)
Immunofluorescent analysis of HeLa cells stained with ab315204, dilution 1 : 1,000 in green, and costained with chicken pAb to Vimentin, CPCA-Vim, dilution 1 : 2,000 in red. The blue is DAPI staining of nuclear DNA. The ab315204 reveals aurora B localized in midbodies, midzones of dividing cells and also in the nuclei or some cells.

Western blot - Anti-Aurora B antibody [3F11] (AB315204)
Western blot analysis of different cell lysates and recombinant protein solutions using ab315204. Left : cells were treated with 100ng/mL of nocodazol, a microtubule depolymerizing agent which induces cells to halt at G2/M phase. [1] protein standard, [2] HeLa, [3] canine A72 cells, [4] equine NBL6 cells, and [5] mouse KR158 cells. Right : Blot of purified full length recombinant human aurora A, B and C were probed with ab315204. The antibody binds specifically only to aurora B and not to the closely related aurora A and C.

Biological function summary
Aurora B kinase functions to ensure proper chromosome alignment segregation and cytokinesis during mitosis and meiosis. It phosphorylates various substrates to facilitate processes like correction of kinetochore-microtubule attachments and regulation of the mitotic checkpoint. As a part of the CPC Aurora B acts in coordination with other proteins to control these cellular events ensuring that cells divide accurately and safely.
Pathways
Aurora B integrates into the cell cycle and mitotic pathways operating closely with the spindle assembly checkpoint. It interacts with proteins like CENP-A and CENP-E ensuring error-free chromosome segregation. Aurora B's activity within these pathways is critical for maintaining genomic stability and preventing aneuploidy a condition linked to improper chromosome number.
