Involved in the regulation of homocysteine metabolism. Converts betaine and homocysteine to dimethylglycine and methionine, respectively. This reaction is also required for the irreversible oxidation of choline.

All lanes: Western blot - Anti-BHMT antibody [3D6] (ab282156) at 1/1000 dilution
All lanes: Mouse liver tissue lysate at 40 µg
All lanes: Goat anti-Mouse secondary antibody HRP-conjugate
Predicted band size: 45 kDa
Flow cytometry analysis of Hep3B cells labelling BHMT with ab282156 at 2-5ug for 1x106 cells (red). A Goat anti-mouse IgG (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as the secondary antibody. Mouse monoclonal IgG was used as the isotype control (dark gray), cells without incubation with primary and secondary antibody was used as the negative control (light gray).
Immunocytochemical analysis of Hep3B cells labelling BHMT with ab282156 at 1/100 dilution followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody (green). DAPI was stained the cell nucleus (blue).
