Sandwich ELISA - Biotin Anti-Human Ig light chain antibody [RM129] (AB193185)
A titer Sandwich ELISA using ab193185 as the detection antibody. The plate, coated with the capture antibody anti-human IgG, was loaded with different amounts of human IgG. A serial dilution of ab193185 was used as the detection antibody, followed with an alkaline phosphatase conjugated streptavidin.

ELISA - Biotin Anti-Human Ig light chain antibody [RM129] (AB193185)
ELISA of human immunoglobulins shows ab193185 reacts to both kappa and lambda light chains of human immunoglobulins. No cross reactivity with mouse, rat, or goat immunoglobulin light chain. The plate was coated with 50ng/well of different immunglobulins. 100 ng/mL or 20 ng/mL was used as the primary antibody. An alkaline phosphatase conjugated anti-rabbit IgG as the secondary antibody.

Biological function summary
The light chain contributes to antigen recognition by forming part of the antigen-binding site on an antibody. It's not a standalone entity but part of a larger immunoglobulin complex. This allows antibodies to bind specifically to antigens facilitating the immune response. The light chain also participates in stabilizing the antibody structure and ensuring proper immune function.
Pathways
The Ig light chain functions in the context of the adaptive immune system particularly in the immunoglobulin gene rearrangement and affinity maturation pathways. It works closely with the heavy chain to achieve effective antigen recognition. Additionally it interacts indirectly with proteins like B-cell receptor (BCR) which is important in the B lymphocyte signaling pathway. These interactions allow for the antibody-mediated detection and response to pathogens.
