ab259761 is a BSA and Azide Free antibody supplied in an unconjugated format and it is suitable for sandwich ELISAs to quantify Mouse Betacellulin. The recommended pair for sandwich ELISA is:
Capture: ab259761, Mouse Betacellulin (BTC) Capture Antibody (unconjugated)
Detector: Anti-BTC antibody [EPR22344-57] - BSA and Azide free (Detector) ab259762, Mouse Betacellulin (BTC) Detector Antibody (unconjugated)
The reference range value is 4.69 - 300 pg/ml.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization for ELISA-based assays. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type. Please note that the range provided for this antibody is only an estimation based on the performance of the product using the recommended antibody pair. Performance of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay. We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibody in your assay.
The BTC protein also known as betacellulin is a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family that plays an important role in cell signaling. It is a growth factor with a molecular weight of approximately 32 kDa. BTC is expressed in a range of tissues including the pancreas kidney and small intestine. This protein binds to and activates the EGF receptor (EGFR) stimulating various cellular processes. Researchers often use the BTC mouse and BTC chimeras to study its function and physiological roles due to their relevance to human biology.
BTC plays an important role in regulating cell proliferation especially in the pancreas where it influences beta-cell growth and regeneration. It operates as part of a signaling complex that interacts with other members of the EGF family impacting various cellular responses. Researchers employ experimental tools like BTC ELISA kits to quantify BTC levels in biological samples aiding in the exploration of its biological functions and mechanisms. BTC’s ability to modulate growth pathways makes it a significant molecule under investigation.
BTC participates in the EGF/EGFR signaling pathway which is essential for controlling cellular growth and differentiation. This pathway involves the interaction of BTC with other ligands such as EGF and transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-α) altering downstream signaling events. BTC further contributes to the activation of the MAPK/ERK pathway a critical process for transmitting signals from the cell surface to the DNA in the nucleus. Through these pathways BTC impacts cellular activities and balances multiple biological functions.
BTC is linked to conditions such as diabetes and various cancers. In diabetes BTC is associated with pancreatic function particularly influencing insulin production through its role in beta-cell regulation. In cancer abnormal BTC expression or its interactions with EGFR signaling components can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation. Researchers study BTC’s interactions with proteins like EGF and TGF-α to understand its involvement in these disorders as therapeutic targeting of this axis holds potential for treatment strategies.
