Product details

ab251154 is the carrier-free version of ab192861.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

C14orf169 also known as NO66 is a nuclear protein implicated in chromatin regulation and protein synthesis. It has an estimated molecular mass of approximately 85 kDa. This protein shows widespread expression in various tissues including high levels in the brain and liver. C14orf169 possesses JmjC domain which provides it with demethylase activity influencing histone modifications that are critical for chromatin structure and gene expression regulation.
Biological function summary

C14orf169 functions as a part of nuclear complexes involved in transcriptional regulation. It interacts with other chromatin-associated factors ensuring proper histone modification which is necessary for modulating gene expression. This protein's role in regulating chromatin's epigenetic state connects it to important cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and response to stress.

Pathways

C14orf169 integrates within histone modification and transcriptional regulation pathways. Its demethylase activity influences the H3K4me3 and H3K36me3 marks important for transcriptional activation or repression. C14orf169 shows interactions with other proteins such as histone demethylases and methyltransferases that cooperate in modifying chromatin structure affecting gene transcription patterns.

C14orf169's dysregulation associates with cancer types including prostate cancer. Changes in its expression may lead to altered chromatin states affecting oncogene and tumor suppressor gene regulation. Additionally C14orf169 connects with ubiquitin-proteasome pathways implicating it in neurodegenerative disorders where protein degradation becomes impaired specifically in conditions like Alzheimer's disease.

Target data

Oxygenase that can act as both a histone lysine demethylase and a ribosomal histidine hydroxylase (PubMed : 23103944). Specifically demethylates 'Lys-4' (H3K4me) and 'Lys-36' (H3K36me) of histone H3, thereby playing a central role in histone code (By similarity). Preferentially demethylates trimethylated H3 'Lys-4' (H3K4me3) and monomethylated H3 'Lys-4' (H3K4me1) residues, while it has weaker activity for dimethylated H3 'Lys-36' (H3K36me2) (By similarity). Acts as a regulator of osteoblast differentiation via its interaction with SP7/OSX by demethylating H3K4me and H3K36me, thereby inhibiting SP7/OSX-mediated promoter activation (By similarity). Also catalyzes demethylation of non-histone proteins, such as CGAS : demethylation of monomethylated CGAS promotes interaction between CGAS and PARP1, followed by PARP1 inactivation (By similarity). Also catalyzes the hydroxylation of 60S ribosomal protein L8 on 'His-216', thereby playing a role in ribosome biogenesis (PubMed : 23103944). Participates in MYC-induced transcriptional activation (PubMed : 17308053).
