C2orf40 also known as ECRG4 (esophageal cancer related gene 4) is a protein with a molecular mass of approximately 14 kDa. It is expressed widely in human tissues including the brain testis and liver. ECRG4 functions as a membrane protein and plays a role in various cellular processes. Researchers often refer to it when studying its expression in normal and cancerous tissues due to its involvement in cell growth and regulation.
Biological function summary

ECRG4 participates in multiple cellular functions and takes part in neurogenesis and inflammation processes. The protein is not known to be part of a specific multiprotein complex.
