Immunoprecipitation - Anti-C3orf26 antibody (AB241582)

C3orf26 was immunoprecipitated from HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab241582 at 6 μg/reaction. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab241582 at 1 μg/ml.

Lane 1 : ab241582 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Lane 2 : Control IgG IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.

Detection : Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 3 minutes.

Lysates prepared in NETN buffer.

Product details

ab241582 has not performed satisfactorily when used for WB of C3orf26 in crude preparations (e.g. whole cell lysate). This antibody can be used for WB of enriched (e.g. immunoprecipitated) sources of C3orf26.

Supplementary information

C3orf26 also known as Chromosome 3 open reading frame 26 is a protein encoded by the C3orf26 gene. It has an approximate molecular mass of 34 kDa. This protein is expressed in various tissues but exhibits higher expression levels in the liver and lymph nodes. Its primary mechanical role remains to be elucidated although it's suspected to be involved in RNA processing or gene regulation due to its protein structure and sequence similarities with known regulatory proteins.
Biological function summary

C3orf26 plays a potential role in regulating intracellular processes that are significant for cellular homeostasis. Although its biological function needs precise definition some studies suggest that it might interact with components involved in RNA metabolism. C3orf26 has not been confirmed as part of any specific complex but predictive models indicate possible interactions with proteins involved in RNA splicing and transcriptional regulation.

Pathways

C3orf26's indirect involvement centers around gene expression and RNA processing pathways. This protein may interact with RNA-binding proteins and factors such as PRPF4B implicated in pre-mRNA splicing and transcription regulation processes. These pathways are critical for maintaining proper cellular functions and gene expression patterns which suggest pivotal roles for proteins like C3orf26 in these systems.

Current research associates C3orf26 with potential implications in liver-associated conditions possibly due to its high expression in liver tissues. Additionally some evidence links this protein with certain lymphoproliferative disorders given its expression profile in lymph nodes. Connections between C3orf26 and proteins like c-Myc may underline its involvement in these diseases considering c-Myc's role in cell growth and proliferation abnormalities.
