Product details

ab248697 is the carrier-free version of ab134137.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

Cadherin-10 often referred to as CDH10 is a member of the classical cadherin family which are vital components of calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion. This protein is approximately 98 kDa in mass. CDH10 is expressed widely in the central nervous system and is also present in other tissues such as the pancreas and kidney. The cadherin family plays a significant role in mediating homophilic interactions between cells influencing tissue architecture and integrity.
Biological function summary

Cadherin-10 assists in maintaining precise cellular recognition and adhesion. It is particularly involved in the development and maintenance of neural circuits suggesting its involvement in the complexity of brain network formation. Cadherin-10 operates as part of adhesion complexes interacting with cytoplasmic components that link to the actin cytoskeleton thereby influencing cell signaling pathways and cellular communication.

Pathways

Cadherin-10 contributes significantly to the Wnt signaling pathway and adherens junction pathways. These pathways are critical for processes such as cellular differentiation migration and organization. Cadherin-10 has related interactions with proteins like beta-catenin within these pathways which facilitates signal transduction and cell structural integrity.

Alterations in cadherin-10 can affect neurological and developmental conditions. Mutations or dysregulation of CDH10 have associations with autism spectrum disorders impacting neural communication genes. Similarly changes in cadherin-10 expressions also show connections to manic disorders implying a role in emotional regulation pathways linked to neuropsychiatric proteins such as N-cadherin and synaptic adhesion molecules.

Target data

Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types.
