Western blot - Anti-CALB2 antibody [L122/6] - Chicken IgY (Chimeric) (AB325662)

Western blotting of rat whole brain homogenate with an anti-Calretinin mouse mAb and ab325662 antibodies (10 µg/ml). The mouse mAb and ab325662 were detected with anti-mouse-HRP and anti-chicken-HRP, respectively. The antibody recognizes endogenous CALB2 with similar sensitivity as the anti-Calretinin mouse Mab in the rat whole brain homogenate at 30 kDa.

This recombinant antibody is a chimeric antibody created by replacing the mouse heavy and light constant regions of clone L122/6 with chicken IgY heavy and light constant regions. As such this antibody retains the same binding performance as the original clone L122/6 but can be detected using standard anti-chicken secondary antibodies allowing flexibility for multiplexing applications. This antibody is expressed recombinantly in mammalian cells and then affinity purified from the cell culture media.

Target data

Calcium-binding protein involved in calcium homeostasis and signal transduction. It plays a critical role in buffering intracellular calcium levels and modulating calcium-dependent signaling pathways. Predominantly expressed in specific neuronal populations, influences synaptic plasticity and neuronal excitability, contributing to learning and memory (By similarity). During embryonic development, it facilitates neuronal differentiation and maturation (PubMed : 14664811).
