To generate this image, samples were run on an SDS-PAGE gel then transferred onto a nitrocellulose membrane. Membranes were blocked in 3pc Milk in TBS-0.1 % Tween® 20 (TBS-T) before incubation with primary antibodies overnight at 4 °C. Blots were washed four times in TBS-T, incubated with secondary antibodies for 1 h at room temperature, washed again four times then imaged. Secondary antibodies used were Goat anti-Rabbit 800CW & Goat anti-Mouse 680RD at 1/20,000 dilution.

Product details

ab249712 is the carrier-free version of ab172618.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

CAMK1D also known as Calcium/Calmodulin-dependent protein kinase ID plays a role as a serine/threonine-specific protein kinase. This protein is part of the calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase family. It has a mass of approximately 45 kDa. CAMK1D expression occurs in various tissues including the brain liver and muscle. It functions by phosphorylating downstream targets in response to the changes in calcium levels which ultimately influences numerous cellular processes.
Biological function summary

CAMK1D participates in neuronal development and immune responses. It plays an important role in the regulation of gene expression and cytoskeletal rearrangement. CAMK1D does not typically form complexes but it interacts with other proteins to perform its functions. Its activity is regulated by the binding of calmodulin in response to increased intracellular calcium levels which activates its kinase activity leading to phosphorylation of target proteins.

Pathways

CAMK1D actively integrates into the calcium signaling pathway as well as the MAPK signaling pathway. Through these pathways it interacts with several proteins like CREB and acts to mediate the effects of calcium on cellular activities. Its role in calcium signaling links it to various responses such as cellular growth apoptosis and differentiation. CAMK1D shares functional interactions with other kinases in these pathways aiding in signal transduction and cellular response regulation.

CAMK1D has been associated with certain types of cancer and diabetes. Abnormal regulation of CAMK1D expression or activity can lead to dysregulated cellular processes that contribute to the development of these conditions. In cancer CAMK1D may interact with proteins like p53 which is critical for cell cycle regulation and apoptosis. In diabetes its interaction with insulin signaling pathways highlights its potential role in glucose metabolism and homeostasis.

Target data

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase that operates in the calcium-triggered CaMKK-CaMK1 signaling cascade and, upon calcium influx, activates CREB-dependent gene transcription, regulates calcium-mediated granulocyte function and respiratory burst and promotes basal dendritic growth of hippocampal neurons. In neutrophil cells, required for cytokine-induced proliferative responses and activation of the respiratory burst. Activates the transcription factor CREB1 in hippocampal neuron nuclei. May play a role in apoptosis of erythroleukemia cells. In vitro, phosphorylates transcription factor CREM isoform Beta.
