May stimulate the sodium/bicarbonate transporter activity of SLC4A4 that acts in pH homeostasis (PubMed:15563508). It is essential for acid overload removal from the retina and retina epithelium, and acid release in the choriocapillaris in the choroid (PubMed:15563508).

    Low expression: liver(PMID: 16260723).

    The identity of the higher MW band at approximately 75 kDa (in lane 3) is unknown.

    Lanes 3-5 were developed using a high-sensitivity ECL substrate, allowing for the detection of proteins in the mid-femtogram range.

    A band around 39 kDa in MCF7 and Jurkat was observed.

    The identity of the higher MW bands at approximately 50 kDa (in lane 5) are unknown.

    Lane 5 was developed using a high-sensitivity ECL substrate, allowing for the detection of proteins in the mid-femtogram range.
