Immunoprecipitation - Anti-cbx7 antibody (AB91431)
cbx7 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa whole cell lysate, using ab91431 at 10 μg/mg of lysate. 20% of the immunoprecipitae was loaded per lane for the subsequent Western blot and probed with ab91431 at 1 μg/ml (lane 1) or a control IgG (lane 2).
Detetion : chemoluminescence with exposure time of 30 seconds.

Biological function summary
The CBX7 protein participates in the complex known as Polycomb Repressive Complex 1 (PRC1). This complex plays a significant role in the maintenance of cellular identity by regulating gene expression profiles important for stem cell pluripotency and differentiation. CBX7 binds to modified histones leading to chromatin compaction and gene silencing instrumental for preserving cell lineage integrity during development and cellular transformation.
Pathways
CBX7 interacts with several components in the cell cycle regulation and epigenetic modification pathways. Within the cell cycle regulation pathway it closely interacts with other Polycomb group proteins to control gene expression that governs cell proliferation and differentiation. In the context of epigenetic pathways CBX7 influences chromatin remodeling by interacting with proteins like BMI1 and RING1 thereby exerting control over the transcriptional landscape required for developmental and adaptive responses.
