Plays a role in transcriptional regulation (PubMed:24623306). Involved in activated KRAS-mediated transcriptional activation of PRKD1 in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells (PubMed:24623306). Binds to the PRKD1 promoter in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells (PubMed:24623306). Could play a role in the terminal differentiation of the intestine. Binds preferentially to methylated DNA (PubMed:28473536).

ab248164 is the carrier-free version of Anti-Cdx1 antibody [EPR4819(2)] ab126748.
Mouse, Rat: We have preliminary internal testing data to indicate this antibody may not react with these species. Please contact us for more information.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
Cdx1 also known as Caudal type homeobox 1 is a transcription factor with a molecular mass of approximately 32 kDa. This protein plays a significant role in the regulation of gene expression during embryonic development. Cdx1 mainly expresses in the intestinal epithelium and to some extent in the colon and rectum. It binds to specific DNA sequences influencing the expression of various genes related to development and differentiation.
Regulating gene expression during development Cdx1 is important for maintaining the identity and function of intestinal cells. It does not operate on its own but is part of a complex network of transcription factors guiding the positional development and morphogenesis of the intestinal tract. This protein contributes to the proper development and specialization of tissues along the anterior-posterior axis of embryonic structures.
Cdx1 interacts with several factors that make it an integral part of key developmental pathways like the Wnt signaling pathway and the Hox gene regulatory network. These pathways influence cellular differentiation and tissue patterning. In these pathways Cdx1 connects with other proteins such as beta-catenin and Hox genes cooperating in the spatial configuration of cellular structures during embryogenesis and adult tissue maintenance.
Cdx1 has been linked to colorectal cancer and other gut-related disorders due to its role in cell differentiation and proliferation. Abnormal Cdx1 expression leads to deregulated growth in intestinal epithelial cells contributing to oncogenesis. It interacts with other proteins involved in these disorders such as APC and p53 which can exacerbate or modulate the disease progression through disrupted signal pathways and altered cellular homeostasis.
