Flow Cytometry - Anti-CEACAM20 antibody [HT-12D8] (AB59626)
BOSC23 cells were transiently transfected with expression vectors containing either the cDNA of CEACAM1, CEACAM3-8 or CEACAM19-21. Expression of the constructs was tested with monoclonal antibodies known to recognize the corresponding proteins (CEACAM1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 : D14HD11; CEACAM7 : BAC2; CEACAM8 : Tet2; CEACAM19,21 : a-myc; CEACAM20 : a-flag; green curves). An irrelevant monoclonal antibody served as a negative control (black curves). For specificity testing, protein G purified HT-12D8 (ab59626) was tested on all CEACAM transfectants. A positive signal was obtained onlywith CEACAM20 transfected cells (red curve).

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-CEACAM20 antibody [HT-12D8] (AB59626)
Spectral Confocal Microscopy of CHO cells using ab59626 at 1ug/106 cells. CHO cells were transiently transfected with an expression vector encoding CEACAM20. Binding of HT-12D8 (ab59626) was visualized with a FITC-conjugated secondary antibody (green). Actin filaments are labeled with Alexa Fluor-555 Phalloidin (red). Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue).

Biological function summary
CEACAM20 contributes to processes such as cell-cell communication and immune response modulation. It may form part of a larger complex with other CEACAM proteins engaging in homo- or heterophilic interactions which help mediate its role in cellular adhesion. These interactions can affect immune cell activation and the epithelial tissue integrity where it is expressed hinting at its involvement in maintaining tissue function under various physiological conditions.
Pathways
CEACAM20 plays roles in the immune response and epithelial cell signaling pathways. It interacts closely with other CEACAM family proteins such as CEACAM1 and CEACAM8 which are involved in similar pathways. These interactions likely influence the recruitment and activation of immune cells. Through these pathways CEACAM20 helps with communication between cells in the immune system and epithelial layers aiding in effective response mechanisms and barrier protection.
