Biological function summary
CEBPG serves as a regulator of cellular differentiation and proliferation. It often forms dimers with other C/EBP family members enhancing its DNA binding capacity and functional diversity. By participating in these complexes CEBPG helps maintain homeostasis and regulate immune responses. Its activity is vital for controlling genes involved in metabolism and inflammation.
Pathways
CEBPG functions within the MAPK signaling pathway and the IL-6 signaling pathway. In the MAPK pathway it interacts with proteins such as JNK thereby influencing cell growth and apoptosis. In the IL-6 pathway CEBPG contributes to the modulation of the inflammatory response. This involvement makes CEBPG a significant player in immune function and cellular stress responses.
