Biological function summary
DDA1 interacts with several other proteins to form part of the Cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase (CRL) complex. This complex is important for tagging target proteins with ubiquitin marking them for degradation by the proteasome. DDA1's interaction with DET1 and DDB1 highlights its role in influencing cellular homeostasis and response to DNA damage. By participating in these interactions it helps maintain normal cell cycle progression and cellular response mechanisms.
Pathways
DDA1 contributes to both ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis and cell cycle regulation. Within its functioning pathways it interacts importantly with the COP9 signalosome and SCF (Skp Cullin F-box containing complex) pathway indicating its role in protein turnover and degradation.
