Biological function summary
This protein participates in ribosome biogenesis by assisting in the maturation of ribosomal RNA. DDX47 as part of ribonucleoprotein complexes facilitates the cleavage of precursor rRNA which is necessary for the production of functional ribosomal subunits. This process is essential for maintaining high rates of protein synthesis in rapidly growing cells thereby influencing cellular growth and proliferation.
Pathways
RNA metabolism and ribosome biogenesis include DDX47 as an important component. In these pathways it interacts with proteins such as NOP56 and NOLC1 which are integral to ribosomal RNA processing.
