Immunoprecipitation - Anti-DPS1 antibody [EPR20843] (AB216869)
DPS1 was immunoprecipitated from 10 μg of MCF7 (human breast adenocarcinoma epithelial cell) whole cell lysate with ab216869 at 1/30 dilution. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab216869 at 1/1000 dilution. VeriBlot for IP Detection Reagent (HRP) (ab131366) was used for detection at 1/5000 dilution.
Lane 1 : MCF7 (human breast adenocarcinoma epithelial cell) whole cell lysate 10 μg (input).
Lane 2 : ab216869 IP in MCF7 whole cell lysate.
Lane 3 : Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) instead of ab216869 in MCF7 whole cell lysate.
Blocking and dilution buffer and concentration : 5% NFDM/TBST
Exposure time : 150 seconds.
All lanes:

Biological function summary
DPS1 contributes to the cellular response to oxidative stress and is integral in the defense mechanism of cells. It interacts with various antioxidants to minimize cellular damage and is a component of the multiprotein DNA protection complex. This complex ensures that cells maintain genomic integrity under stressful conditions enhancing the survival rate of cells exposed to damaging agents.
Pathways
DPS1 is closely involved in the oxidative stress response pathway and the DNA repair pathway. These pathways are critical for cellular homeostasis and cellular longevity. DPS1 works closely with proteins such as NRF2 and SOD1 to modulate the response to oxidative stress coordinating the reduction of reactive oxygen species and initiation of DNA repair processes.
