Biological function summary
The T7 tag does not inherently perform functional roles in cellular processes; instead it serves as a tool to analyze target proteins. Researchers attach the T7 tag to proteins of interest allowing the tagged complex to be isolated using affinity tags such as biotin or alkaline phosphatase (-ALP) conjugates.
