The ELF1 (E74 Like ETS Transcription Factor 1) protein serves as a transcription factor involved in regulating gene expression. It is also known as E74-like factor 1 or ELF-1. This protein has a molecular mass of approximately 68 kDa and is expressed in various tissues with high levels observed in the thymus and peripheral blood leukocytes. ELF1 plays a role in activating or repressing specific genes by binding to DNA sequences in their promoter regions.
