Chemotactic for resting T-lymphocytes, and eosinophils (PubMed:15647285). Has lower chemotactic activity for neutrophils but none for monocytes and activated lymphocytes. Is a strong suppressor of colony formation by a multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cell line. Binds to CCR3 (By similarity).

ab242720 is a BSA and Azide Free antibody supplied in an unconjugated format and it is suitable for sandwich ELISAs to quantify Mouse Eotaxin-2. The recommended pair for sandwich ELISA is:
Capture: Anti-Eotaxin 2 antibody [EPR17018-105] - BSA and Azide free (Capture) ab242469, Mouse Eotaxin-2 Capture Antibody (unconjugated)
Detector: ab242720, Mouse Eotaxin-2 Detector Antibody (unconjugated)
The reference range value is 7.8 - 500 pg/ml.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization for ELISA-based assays. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type. Please note that the range provided for this antibody is only an estimation based on the performance of the product using the recommended antibody pair. Performance of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay. We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibody in your assay.
Eotaxin 2 also known as CCL24 or eotaxin-2 is a chemokine protein with a mass of approximately 10 kDa. It mainly functions as a signaling molecule that recruits specific immune cells to sites of inflammation or tissue damage. This protein is expressed in various tissues with higher levels in the heart lung liver and small intestine. Eotaxin-2 is a member of the CC chemokine family and its expression is often regulated by inflammatory cytokines.
Eotaxin 2 plays a critical role in the immune response by attracting eosinophils and other immune cells to inflamed or damaged tissues. This attraction is mediated through its interaction with the CCR3 receptor on the surface of target cells. Eotaxin-2 is not part of a larger complex but instead acts as a standalone molecule within the chemokine signaling network. This protein assists in the body's defense by guiding the movement of cells to stimulate immune activity where needed.
Eotaxin 2 is involved in the chemokine-mediated signaling pathway that directs the migration of immune cells. Another important pathway associated with eotaxin 2 is the inflammatory response pathway. The coordinated interaction with other chemokines such as eotaxin (CCL11) and MCP-4 (CCL13) is essential to its role in inflammation and healing. These interactions facilitate proper cellular responses to various physiological challenges.
Eotaxin 2 has been implicated in asthma and allergic rhinitis conditions characterized by an overactive immune response. In these disorders its production and release contribute to excessive eosinophil accumulation which can exacerbate symptoms. Eotaxin 2 connects to these diseases primarily through its action on the CCR3 receptor and its interaction with related chemokines such as eotaxin (CCL11) which also play a role in promoting eosinophil recruitment and activation.
