The FGD1 protein also known as faciogenital dysplasia protein is a member of the Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor family and has a molecular weight of approximately 63 kDa. It participates in the act of activating the Rho GTPase Cdc42 which regulates cytoskeletal dynamics in cells. FGD1 mainly expresses in fetal and adult tissues such as heart brain and testis suggesting its significance in various developmental and functional roles within these areas.
