Ligand for tyrosine-protein kinase receptors AXL, TYRO3 and MER whose signaling is implicated in cell growth and survival, cell adhesion and cell migration. GAS6/AXL signaling plays a role in various processes such as endothelial cell survival during acidification by preventing apoptosis, optimal cytokine signaling during human natural killer cell development, hepatic regeneration, gonadotropin-releasing hormone neuron survival and migration, platelet activation, or regulation of thrombotic responses. (Microbial infection) Can bridge virus envelope phosphatidylserine to the TAM receptor tyrosine kinase Axl to mediate viral entry by apoptotic mimicry (PubMed:21501828). Plays a role in Dengue cell entry by apoptotic mimicry (PubMed:23084921). Plays a role in Vaccinia virus cell entry by apoptotic mimicry (PubMed:21501828). Plays a role in ebolavirus and marburgvirus cell entry by apoptotic mimicry (PubMed:17005688).

    The concentration of GAS6 was measured in human wild type and knockout HEK-293 cell extracts on a 62.5 µg/ml extract load. The mean concentration was determined to be 34, 480 pg/ml in wild type extract and not detectable (ND) in knockout extract. The GAS6 knockout cell line extract is available as Human VDR (Vitamin D Receptor) knockout HeLa cell line ab265430. Data represented here are indicative of assay working using example of biological sample.

    Interpolated concentration of GAS6 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Human Serum diluted to 1:32 are shown as Undiluted. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- standard deviation, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in 1% Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA). Data represented here are indicative of assay working using example of biological sample. However, we do not guarantee same sensitivity level due to biological variation.
