Notes

ab250117 is the carrier-free version of Anti-GCET1 antibody [EPR12224] ab179814.

Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.

This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Activity summary

GCET1 or germinal center B-cell expressed transcript 1 is a protein also known as CLL-1. It weighs approximately 43 kDa. This protein primarily appears in germinal center B-cells and shows up in some cases of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and follicular lymphoma. It usually marks the cells involved in proliferation processes which are critical in some lymphomas’ pathogenesis and progression.

Biological function summary

GCET1 participates in the regulation of B-cell proliferation and survival although it is not itself a signaling molecule. It operates mainly within the immune system particularly affecting B-cells. This protein does not typically form part of a larger complex but may influence the activity of other proteins tied to B-cell activation and development aiding in the control of immune responses.

Pathways

GCET1 shows involvement with B-cell receptor signaling and associated signaling pathways. These pathways are central to lymphocyte development activation and differentiation. It interacts closely with essential signaling proteins like SYK and BLNK. Alterations in these pathways can contribute to improper B-cell functioning and linked immunological abnormalities.

Associated diseases and disorders

GCET1 often relates to lymphoma particularly diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and follicular lymphoma. The protein GCET1 shows reciprocal connections with other molecules like BCL-6 in these cancers. Understanding GCET1 helps in identifying potential therapeutic targets and aids in diagnosing certain lymphoid malignancies underlining its value in clinical research related to these conditions.
