Product details

ab250826 is the carrier-free version of ab185231.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

GCET2 also known as germinal center-expressed transcript 2 or centroblast protein has a molecular mass of approximately 19 kDa. It expresses mainly in germinal center B cells specifically the centroblasts within lymphoid tissues. This protein functions mechanically by having a role in the regulation of B cell differentiation and proliferation. Research demonstrates its expression during specific stages of B cell development indicating an important involvement during immune processes.
Biological function summary

This protein influences the immune response by contributing to the maturation and selection of B cells within germinal centers. Although not known to be a part of any larger complex its expression corresponds with stages critical to adaptive immunity. GCET2 supports the processes that ensure only high-affinity B cell receptors mature fostering a strong and specific immune defense.

Pathways

Researchers place GCET2 in connection with the germinal center reaction a significant pathway in adaptive immunity. This pathway involves interaction with proteins such as Bcl-6 which regulates the formation and maintenance of germinal centers. Another pathway is the somatic hypermutation process critical for antibody diversity where GCET2 may influence the changes in antibody affinity.

Scientists have linked GCET2 to certain conditions like lymphoma where its dysregulated expression may contribute to tumorigenesis. Evidence suggests that abnormalities in GCET2 expression levels correlate with the progression of some lymphoid malignancies. In autoimmune disorders this protein has associations with aberrant immune responses potentially increasing susceptibility to conditions characterized by excessive or uncontrolled immune activity.

Target data

Involved in the negative regulation of lymphocyte motility. It mediates the migration-inhibitory effects of IL6. Serves as a positive regulator of the RhoA signaling pathway. Enhancement of RhoA activation results in inhibition of lymphocyte and lymphoma cell motility by activation of its downstream effector ROCK. Is a regulator of B-cell receptor signaling, that acts through SYK kinase activation.
