Immunoprecipitation - Anti-GNL1 antibody (AB245634)
GNL1 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab245634 at 10 μg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab245634 at 0.4 μg/ml.
Lane 1 : ab245634 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2 : Control IgG IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Detection : Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 30 seconds.

Biological function summary
GNL1 functions as a GTPase participating in the assembly and maturation of the ribosomal subunits. This role places it as a part of the Preribosomal Complex. GNL1 facilitates ribosomal RNA processing which is essential for proper protein synthesis within the cell. The protein's involvement in these nucleolar activities supports its significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis.
Pathways
GNL1 plays an integral role in the Nucleocytoplasmic Transport and Ribosome Biogenesis pathway. It works closely alongside proteins like Nucleophosmin (NPM1) during ribosome construction. The proper interaction of GNL1 with other nucleolar proteins ensures the seamless production of functional ribosomes which are important for cellular functions such as growth and division.
