Product details

ab249625 is the carrier-free version of ab170960.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

GNL2 also known as nucleolar GTP-binding protein 2 functions mechanistically as a GTP-binding protein involved in ribosome biogenesis. With a mass of approximately 68 kDa GNL2 participates in nucleolar processes. Expression of GNL2 occurs broadly within tissues but shows notable presence in proliferative cells. It belongs to the MMR1/HSR1 GTP-binding protein family.
Biological function summary

GNL2 interacts as part of the nucleolar complex that contributes to ribosome assembly and maturation. It assists in the stabilization and processing of ribosomal RNA precursors aiding in the production of functional ribosomes necessary for protein synthesis. This connection highlights its role in cellular proliferation and homeostasis particularly within fast-dividing cells.

Pathways

GNL2 interacts with several important cellular processes beyond its primary role in ribosome biogenesis. It integrates into the cell cycle regulatory pathway influencing cell cycle progression and growth. GNL2 also shows involvement with proteins such as nucleolin and nucleophosmin partners essential for its function in ribosome maturation and the regulation of nucleolar structure.

GNL2 exerts influence on conditions associated with abnormal cell proliferation. It has a connection to cancers given its role in accelerating ribosome biogenesis and supporting high proliferation rates in tumor cells. GNL2's dysregulation links it with oncogenic processes often interacting with proteins like p53 an essential regulator in cancer pathways. Additionally aberrant GNL2 expression might relate to disorders involving disrupted cell cycle control.

Target data

GTPase that associates with pre-60S ribosomal subunits in the nucleolus and is required for their nuclear export and maturation (PubMed : 32669547). May promote cell proliferation possibly by increasing p53/TP53 protein levels, and consequently those of its downstream product CDKN1A/p21, and decreasing RPL23A protein levels (PubMed : 26203195).
