Supplementary information

The GPCR GPR115 also known as adhesion G protein-coupled receptor F4 or ADGRF4 is a member of the adhesion GPCR family. This protein is characterized by a large extracellular region that contains various domains which may facilitate cell adhesion processes. It has an approximate mass of 145 kDa. GPR115 is expressed mainly in human tissues like the lung and skin.
Biological function summary

The GPCR GPR115 influences cellular processes such as signal transduction and cell matrix interactions. It plays important roles in mediating cellular responses to external stimuli. GPR115 does not function as part of a protein complex but might interact with other membrane proteins to exert its functions. It shows evolving roles being explored in various physiological contexts.

Pathways

GPCR GPR115 is involved in pathways associated with signal transduction. Specifically it plays a role in G protein-coupled receptor signaling. It potentially interacts with similar proteins like GPCR GPR116 which is another member of the same family facilitating coordination within the signaling cascades. These pathways are key in transmitting signals from the extracellular environment to the inside of the cell affecting cellular behavior.

GPCR GPR115 may have links to respiratory diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Altered expression of this receptor in lung tissue can influence disease progression. This GPCR shares pathways with proteins like the GPCR GPR116 which may also play roles in these conditions providing potential targets for therapeutic approaches.
