Product details

ab244892 is a BSA and Azide Free antibody supplied in an unconjugated format and it is suitable for sandwich ELISAs to quantify Human CXCL1. The recommended pair for sandwich ELISA is:
Capture: ab244631, Human CXCL1 Capture Antibody (unconjugated)
Detector: ab244892, Human CXCL1 Detector Antibody (unconjugated)
The reference range value is 2.34 - 150 pg/ml.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Sandwich ELISA
The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization for ELISA-based assays. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type. Please note that the range provided for this antibody is only an estimation based on the performance of the product using the recommended antibody pair. Performance of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay. We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibody in your assay.

Supplementary information

GRO alpha also known as CXCL1 belongs to the chemokine family and plays a critical mechanical role in the immune system. It has a molecular weight of approximately 7.8 kDa. GRO alpha predominantly expresses in neutrophils and various epithelial cells. The protein acts primarily as a chemoattractant that guides neutrophils to sites of inflammation contributing to the body's primary response to injury or infection.
Biological function summary

GRO alpha functions as an important chemokine involved in the recruitment and activation of neutrophils. It does not form part of a larger protein complex but interacts with CXC chemokine receptors specifically CXCR2 to perform its duties. GRO alpha facilitates the migration of leukocytes across blood vessel walls aiding in the inflammatory response. Its activity is critical in processes like wound healing and response to bacterial infections.

Pathways

GRO alpha participates in the inflammatory response and immune signaling pathways. GRO alpha's interaction with the CXCR2 receptor allows it to integrate into the NF-kB signaling pathway influencing the transcription of genes involved in immune responses. It also associates with other chemokines like IL-8 which is a close relative in function and structure sharing roles in modulating the inflammatory response.

GRO alpha holds significant relevance in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and cancer. In rheumatoid arthritis GRO alpha exacerbates inflammation influencing disease severity and progression. The protein's role in cancer involves tumor growth and metastasis facilitated by its ability to recruit neutrophils and other immune cells to the tumor microenvironment. Interactions with proteins like VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) provide pathways that contribute to the angiogenesis process critical in both wound healing and tumor development.

Target data

Has chemotactic activity for neutrophils. May play a role in inflammation and exerts its effects on endothelial cells in an autocrine fashion. In vitro, the processed forms GRO-alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity.
