Chemotactic for neutrophil granulocytes. Signals through binding and activation of its receptors (CXCR1 and CXCR2). In addition to its chemotactic and angiogenic properties, it has strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (90-fold-higher when compared to CXCL5 and CXCL7).

ab259523 is a BSA and Azide Free antibody supplied in an unconjugated format and it is suitable for sandwich ELISAs to quantify Human GCP-2. The recommended pair for sandwich ELISA is:
Capture: Anti-GCP2 antibody [EPR22310-215] - BSA and Azide free (Capture) ab244632, Human GCP-2 (CXCL6) Capture Antibody (unconjugated)
Detector: ab259523, Human GCP-2 (CXCL6) Detector Antibody (unconjugated)
The reference range value is 25 - 1600 pg/ml.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization for ELISA-based assays. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type. Please note that the range provided for this antibody is only an estimation based on the performance of the product using the recommended antibody pair. Performance of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay. We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibody in your assay.
GRO gamma also known as GCP-2 or CXCL3 is a chemokine with a mass of approximately 8 kDa. It is involved in the chemotactic activity attracting neutrophils to sites of inflammation. The protein is found mainly in various tissues like the liver lungs and kidneys where it plays central roles in immune response. GRO gamma interacts with chemokine receptors such as CXCR1 and CXCR2 which are key in transmitting signals that mediate cellular responses.
GRO gamma plays a significant role in the regulation of immune and inflammatory responses. It is not a part of any larger protein complexes operating independently to exert its effects. GRO gamma induces chemotaxis in immune cells and is involved in the activation and recruitment of neutrophils from the bloodstream to the site of tissue damage or infection. It promotes the expression of adhesion molecules which aid in leukocyte migration across the endothelium.
GRO gamma integrates into the broader chemokine signaling pathway and the inflammatory response pathway. It significantly influences the chemokine-mediated signaling pathway involving other chemokines like IL-8 (CXCL8) and related receptors. GRO gamma initiates signaling cascades that result in the activation of various signaling molecules leading to inflammatory responses and apoptosis of infected cells.
GRO gamma has been linked to conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In these disorders GRO gamma takes part in the excessive recruitment of neutrophils contributing to tissue damage and inflammation. The protein shows functional overlap with cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-6 emphasizing its importance in understanding inflammatory diseases.
