Regulates chordin (CHRD). May play a role in spatial programing within discrete embryonic fields or lineage compartments during organogenesis. In concert with NKX3-2, plays a role in defining the structural components of the middle ear; required for the development of the entire tympanic ring (By similarity). Probably involved in the regulatory networks that define neural crest cell fate specification and determine mesoderm cell lineages in mammals.

Rat: We have preliminary internal testing data to indicate this antibody may not react with this species. Please contact us for more information.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
The biological target GSC also known as Goosecoid is a transcription factor with a molecular weight of approximately 28 kDa. It is expressed during early embryonic development and plays an important role in mesoderm patterning and differentiation. GSC is primarily found in specific regions such as the Spemann organizer in amphibians and the primitive streak in other vertebrates. The transcriptional activity of GSC is regulated through interactions with other proteins and signaling pathways which modulate its expression in these tissues.
Goosecoid functions as a homeobox-containing transcription factor that regulates gene expression critical for embryogenesis. It forms part of transcriptional complexes that are involved in modulating the activity of target genes essential for morphogenetic movements. GSC activates or represses specific genes to control the cell fate and tissue patterning during development. It coordinates the expression of genes required for establishing body axis formation reflecting its role in orchestrating developmental processes.
Goosecoid interacts with the Wnt and TGF-beta signaling pathways which are vital for early embryonic development. These pathways regulate the expression of several proteins such as beta-catenin and Smad proteins which are important for transducing signals that affect cell differentiation and migration. GSC’s involvement in these pathways highlights its role as a mediator of signals necessary for the coordination of complex developmental processes.
Disruptions in Goosecoid's expression or function are linked to congenital malformations such as craniofacial disorders and skeletal anomalies. Aberrant regulation of GSC may result in improper development leading to conditions such as Robinow syndrome where facial abnormalities and short stature are observed. Additionally alterations in the activity of proteins like BMP4 which interact with GSC further highlight the significance of this target in developmental pathologies.
