Immunoprecipitation - Anti-IFFO1 antibody [EPR22711-61] (AB242130)
IFFO1 was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg HEK-293T (human embryonic kidney epithelial cell) whole cell lysate with ab242130 at 1/30 dilution (2ug in 0.35mg lysates). Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using ab242130 at 1/1000 dilution. VeriBlot for IP Detection Reagent (HRP)(ab131366) was used at 1/5000 dilution.
Lane 1 : HEK-293T (human embryonic kidney epithelial cell) whole cell lysate 10 ug
Lane 2 : ab242130 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate
Lane 3 : Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) instead of ab242130 in HEK-293T whole cell lysate
Blocking and dilution buffer and concentration : 5% NFDM/TBST.

Biological function summary
The protein supports cellular architecture and dynamics during cell division and differentiation. IFFO1 can interact with other intermediate filament proteins but researchers suggest it may also function independently. Though not very well-studied it contributes to the stability of cells' mechanical properties playing a part in maintaining cellular organization and providing resilience against mechanical stress.
Pathways
Its involvement in cytoskeletal organization connects it with the cytoskeletal remodeling pathway which is fundamental for cellular shape and stability. It associates with proteins like vimentin and desmin which are important in this pathway. These interactions underline its contribution to cell structure and mechanics connecting it to both cellular movement and morphological changes.
