Biological function summary
IFRD1 regulates immune response and cellular differentiation processes. It functions as part of the transcriptional regulation complex influencing genes involved in tissue regeneration and repair. In the immune system IFRD1 modulates macrophage activation and influences neutrophil survival. The involvement in these biological processes indicates its important role in both normal physiological functions and response to injury or inflammation.
Pathways
IFRD1 significantly contributes to the NF-kB signaling and JAK/STAT pathways. In these pathways it interacts with key regulatory proteins to influence transcriptional outcomes. The NF-kB pathway for instance involves interactions with transcription factors that control inflammation and immune responses. Meanwhile the JAK/STAT pathway important for cytokine signaling sees IFRD1 engaging with STAT proteins. Through these pathways IFRD1 plays a role in regulating cellular responses to external stimuli.
