This data was developed using the same antibody clone in a different buffer formulation (ab109432).

Lanes 1-4 : Merged signal (red and green). Green - ab109432 observed at 129 kDa. Red - loading control ab8245 observed at 37 kDa.

ab109432 Anti-Integrin alpha 2 antibody [EPR5789] was shown to specifically react with Integrin alpha 2 in wild-type HeLa cells. Loss of signal was observed when knockout cell line ab264819 (knockout cell lysate ab257262) was used. Wild-type and Integrin alpha 2 knockout samples were subjected to SDS-PAGE. ab109432 and Anti-GAPDH antibody [6C5] - Loading Control (ab8245) were incubated overnight at 4°C at 1 in 1000 Dilution and 1 in 20000 dilution respectively. Blots were developed with Goat anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (IRDye® 800CW) preadsorbed (ab216773) and Goat anti-Mouse IgG H&L (IRDye® 680RD) preadsorbed (ab216776) secondary antibodies at 1 in 20000 dilution for 1 hour at room temperature before imaging.

Integrin alpha 2 also known as CD49b ITGA2 and A2 is a protein that functions as part of the integrin family. Integrins are transmembrane receptors that facilitate cell-extracellular matrix adhesion. Integrin alpha 2 has a molecular mass of approximately 130 kDa and is widely expressed in epithelial cells fibroblasts and platelets. This protein is important for mediating adhesion between cells and the extracellular matrix affecting cell signaling and behavior. Through this adhesion cells can communicate with their environment adjusting their functions accordingly.

Integrin alpha-2/beta-1 is a receptor for laminin, collagen, collagen C-propeptides, fibronectin and E-cadherin. It recognizes the proline-hydroxylated sequence G-F-P-G-E-R in collagen. It is responsible for adhesion of platelets and other cells to collagens, modulation of collagen and collagenase gene expression, force generation and organization of newly synthesized extracellular matrix..
