Intersectin-2 also known as ITSNT2 is a multi-domain scaffold protein involved in endocytosis and signal transduction. It has a molecular mass of approximately 194 kDa. Intersectin-2 helps form dynamic protein complexes by acting as an adaptor facilitating protein-protein interactions. This protein mainly expressed in the nervous system enabling synaptic vesicle recycling important for neurotransmission. It contains multiple EH (Eps15 Homology) domains SH3 (Src homology 3) domains and a coiled-coil domain all contributing to its versatile binding capabilities.
