Shows chemotactic activity for lymphocytes and monocytes but not neutrophils. Also shows potent myelosuppressive activity, suppresses proliferation of myeloid progenitor cells. Recombinant SCYA16 shows chemotactic activity for monocytes and THP-1 monocytes, but not for resting lymphocytes and neutrophils. Induces a calcium flux in THP-1 cells that were desensitized by prior expression to RANTES.

ab259508 is a BSA and Azide Free antibody supplied in an unconjugated format and it is suitable for sandwich ELISAs to quantify Human CCL16. The recommended pair for sandwich ELISA is:
Capture: Anti-LEC antibody [EPR21737-236] - BSA and Azide free (Capture) ab259507, Human CCL16 Capture Antibody (unconjugated)
Detector: ab259508, Human CCL16 Detector Antibody (unconjugated)
The reference range value is 2.34 - 150 pg/ml.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization for ELISA-based assays. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type. Please note that the range provided for this antibody is only an estimation based on the performance of the product using the recommended antibody pair. Performance of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay. We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibody in your assay.
LEC also known as CCL16 is a chemokine protein that functions in the immune system. This protein weighs approximately 22 kDa and resides mainly in the liver and peripheral blood leukocytes. LEC belongs to the CC chemokine family characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. The protein connects with other cellular systems to modulate immune responses. Antibodies like anti-LEC can detect it effectively and commercial products such as LEC BSA and LEC custom products aid in its study.
LEC performs vital roles in immune cell signaling and chemotaxis. It binds specifically to certain chemokine receptors on target cells initiating signaling cascades that recruit lymphocytes to infected or inflamed tissues. LEC functions as part of a larger complex that includes other chemokines to coordinate immune responses. Its expression and activity influence various immune functions which makes its regulation significant for maintaining healthy immune system operation.
LEC acts within immune signaling pathways and inflammation-related processes. It plays essential parts in pathways like the chemokine signaling pathway where it interacts with other proteins such as CCR1 and CCR2 chemokine receptors. Through these interactions LEC contributes to the recruitment and activation of specific immune cell subtypes facilitating a coordinated response to inflammation or infection.
LEC connects to conditions involving immune dysregulation like rheumatoid arthritis and liver diseases. In rheumatoid arthritis LEC levels can affect inflammation and tissue damage often in concert with proteins like TNF-alpha. In liver diseases altered LEC expression may relate to liver fibrosis with connections to proteins such as TGF-beta. Understanding LEC's role in these conditions can lead to better therapeutic strategies targeting the chemokine network.
