ab246345 is the carrier-free version of Anti-LGALS14 antibody [EPR9665] ab150427.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Rat: We have preliminary internal testing data to indicate this antibody may not react with this species. Please contact us for more information.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
LGALS14 also known as Galectin-14 is a member of the galectin family a group of beta-galactoside-binding proteins. It has a mass of around 14 kDa. This protein is expressed highly in eosinophils and placenta tissues. As a carbohydrate-binding protein LGALS14 participates in cellular interactions and its expression level may vary depending on cell activation states or pathological conditions.
Galectin-14 functions in the immune response and regulation of inflammation. It can influence cell apoptosis and modulate signaling pathways through binding to specific carbohydrate moieties on cell surfaces. LGALS14 itself is not typically part of bigger protein complexes although it might interact with other galectins or proteins in certain cellular contexts to carry out its functions more effectively.
This galectin family member holds a role in the immune system especially within pathways that manage inflammatory responses. It interacts with proteins such as Galectin-3 and Galectin-9 which also contribute to inflammatory regulation and immune function. These interactions help modulate immune signaling and processes like cell adhesion which are key components of the immune response pathway.
LGALS14 associates with conditions such as asthma and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). In asthma Galectin-14 levels often correlate with eosinophil activity which is an indicator of inflammation severity. Furthermore research links LGALS14 with inflammation in IBD possibly through its role in modulating like Galectin-3 which also participate in inflammation pathways. Understanding its interactions and expression can provide insights into these diseases' mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence analysis of JAR (Human placenta choriocarcinoma epithelial cell) cells labeling LGALS14 with purified Anti-LGALS14 antibody [EPR9665] ab150427 at 1/100 dilution (10 µg/ml). Cells were fixed in 4% Paraformaldehyde. Cells were counterstained with Alexa Fluor® 594 Anti-alpha Tubulin antibody [DM1A] - Microtubule Marker ab195889 Anti-alpha Tubulin antibody [DM1A] - Microtubule Marker (Alexa Fluor® 594) 1/200 (2.5 µg/ml). Goat anti rabbit IgG (Alexa Fluor® 488, Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) ab150077) was used as the secondary antibody at 1/1000 (2 µg/ml) dilution. DAPI (blue) was used as nuclear counterstain. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the secondary antibody only control.
This data was developed using the same antibody clone in a different buffer formulation containing PBS, BSA, glycerol, and sodium azide (Anti-LGALS14 antibody [EPR9665] ab150427)
Intracellular Flow Cytometry analysis of JAR (Human placenta choriocarcinoma epithelial cell) cells labeling LGALS14 with purified Anti-LGALS14 antibody [EPR9665] ab150427 at 1/20 dilution (10 μg/ml) (Red). Cells were fixed with 4% Paraformaldehyde and permeabilised with 90% Methanol. A Goat anti rabbit IgG (Alexa Fluor® 488, Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) ab150077) secondary antibody was used at 1/2000. Isotype control - Rabbit monoclonal IgG (Black).
