Immunoprecipitation - Anti-LIN54 antibody (AB138425)
Detection of LIN54 by immunoprecipitation in HeLa whole cell lysate using ab138425 at 6µg/mg lysate (1 mg/IP; 20% of IP loaded/lane). A different antibody against Human LIN54 was used for Western Blot detection step. Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.

Biological function summary
In coordination with other proteins LIN54 plays an important role in the regulation of the cell cycle. It forms part of the multiprotein DREAM complex a regulatory unit that shifts cells from proliferation to a quiescent state by repressing cell cycle-dependent genes. During the cell cycle LIN54 supports transitions between different phases by regulating gene expression connected to cell cycle arrest and activation ensuring cells divide correctly and avoid errors that could lead to pathological states.
Pathways
Multiple cell cycle pathways involve the participation of LIN54 influencing cellular transitions and growth signals. LIN54 is significantly associated with the E2F transcription factor pathway which regulates genes required for cell cycle progression. Another pathway that LIN54 plays a part in is the p53 signaling pathway where it interacts with proteins like RB1. These pathways help maintain cellular homeostasis and prevent unregulated growth that may result in various diseases.
