What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Species reactivity
Rat: We have preliminary internal testing data to indicate this antibody may not react with this species.
Please contact us for more information.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

The enzyme LIPF also known as gastric lipase plays an essential role in the digestion of dietary fats. It has a molecular mass of approximately 50 kDa. LIPF demonstrates expression mainly in the gastric chief cells within the stomach lining where it catalyzes the hydrolysis of triglycerides into free fatty acids and monoglycerides. This enzymatic activity holds particular importance under acidic pH conditions typically found in the stomach.
Biological function summary

The LIPF enzyme facilitates lipid digestion and absorption in infants and adults. It works independently rather than as part of a larger protein complex. The lipolytic activity of LIPF partially compensates for the less developed pancreatic lipase activity in neonates and provides an early step in lipid breakdown essential for efficient nutrient absorption.

Pathways

The enzyme participates in lipid metabolism and digestive pathways. Within the lipid metabolism pathway LIPF acts similarly with pancreatic lipase but functions specifically in acidic environments highlighting its role in the initial stages of fat digestion. The digestive pathway includes related proteins such as pancreatic lipase which complements LIPF's function by further processing lipids once they enter the duodenum after passing through the stomach.

LIPF influences conditions related to fat malabsorption and gastrointestinal disorders. Its dysfunction or deficiency can lead to conditions like steatorrhea characterized by excess fat in stools due to improper digestion. Furthermore LIPF has connections to Helico pylori infections as this bacterium can affect gastric environments and therefore impact lipid digestion efficiency whereas proteins such as mucin can interact with this process by forming protective barriers for the gastric lining.

Target data

Catalyzes the hydrolysis of triacylglycerols to yield free fatty acids, diacylglycerol, monoacylglycerol, and glycerol (PubMed : 10358049, PubMed : 2243091). Shows a preferential hydrolysis at the sn-3 position of triacylglycerol (PubMed : 2243091).
