Biological function summary
LMO7 supports cellular integrity and function through its roles at the nuclear periphery. It interacts with nuclear and cytoskeletal elements contributing to processes such as nuclear shaping and stability. LMO7 participates in the assembly of the mechanotransduction complex at the nuclear membrane. This role links external mechanical signals to gene expression regulation involving other proteins in the complex and helping cells respond to mechanical stress.
Pathways
This protein integrates into the mechanotransduction pathway and the actin cytoskeleton signaling. It interacts with cellular components such as emerin and nesprin impacting cytoskeletal dynamics and nuclear positioning. In doing so LMO7 influences signal transduction pathways that affect cell migration and structural maintenance which represent important physiological functions.
