Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Signals through CCR2B and CCR3 receptors. Plays a role in the accumulation of leukocytes at both sides of allergic and non-allergic inflammation. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis. May play a role in the monocyte attraction in tissues chronically exposed to exogenous pathogens.
MCP4, NCC1, SCYA13, CCL13, C-C motif chemokine 13, CK-beta-10, Monocyte chemoattractant protein 4, Monocyte chemotactic protein 4, NCC-1, Small-inducible cytokine A13, MCP-4

ab251454 is the carrier-free version of Anti-MCP4 antibody [EPR19877] ab206405.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
MCP4 also known as CCL13 is a chemokine with a molecular mass of approximately 11 kDa. It plays a critical role in attracting immune cells to sites of inflammation. MCP4 achieves this through its interaction with G protein-coupled receptors particularly CCR2 and CCR3. The protein is primarily expressed in tissues involved in immune responses including lymph nodes spleen and bone marrow. It exhibits high expression levels at sites of allergic inflammation suggesting a specific role in these processes.
MCP4 functions by mediating the recruitment of monocytes eosinophils and T lymphocytes. It is not part of a larger protein complex but rather operates as part of the chemokine signaling family. MCP4 is particularly active in coordinating responses to allergens and pathogens therefore highlighting its importance in the body's defense mechanisms. As a member of the C-C motif chemokine family it shares structural characteristics with other chemokines like CCL11 which participate in similar immune cell trafficking functions.
MCP4 is deeply involved in inflammatory and immune pathways specifically the chemokine signaling pathway and the cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction pathway. MCP4 guides immune cells allowing them to respond effectively to cytokine signals ensuring their migration to necessary sites. Through the chemokine signaling pathway it collaborates with related chemokines like CCL5 to enhance immune responses. Its interaction with these pathways highlights its role in both routine immunity and inflammatory responses positioning it as an important player in maintaining immune homeostasis.
MCP4 correlates with conditions such as asthma and allergic rhinitis. Both of these conditions involve chronic inflammation where MCP4's role becomes more pronounced. In asthma the protein contributes to the recruitment of eosinophils and other immune cells that drive the inflammatory processes. MCP4 interactions with proteins like CCR3 are significant in exacerbating symptoms of allergic disorders making it an important target for therapeutic research aimed at modulating inflammatory responses in these diseases.
