Sandwich ELISA - Anti-MEF2A + MEF2C antibody [EPR19089-34] - BSA and Azide free (Detector) (AB282242)
Interpolated concentrations of native MEF2C in human control wild type THP-1 (human acute monocytic leukemia cell) and MEF2C knockout THP-1 cell based on 125 µg/mL extract loads. The concentrations of MEF2C were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the MEF2C standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean MEF2C concentration was determined to be 9471.1 pg/mL in wild type THP-1 extract (Human wild-type THP-1 cell line ab281894) and undetectable in MEF2C knockout THP-1 extract (Human MEF2C knockout THP-1 cell line ab313739).

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
- - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
- - Improved sensitivity and specificity
- - Long-term security of supply
- - Animal-free batch production
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
Sandwich ELISA
The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization for ELISA-based assays. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type. Please note that the range provided for this antibody is only an estimation based on the performance of the product using the recommended antibody pair. Performance of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay. We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibody in your assay.

Biological function summary
MEF2A and MEF2C regulate multiple cellular processes especially in muscle differentiation and neuronal development. They frequently form complexes with other transcriptional regulators and play a significant role in the activation and repression of target genes. Through their interaction with the regulatory regions of DNA they help coordinate the transcriptional response necessary for cell growth development and survival. Their important involvement in muscle and nervous system development positions them as central players in maintaining proper cellular function during these processes.
Pathways
MEF2A and MEF2C serve as integral components in the MAPK and calcium signaling pathways. These pathways impact cellular response to environmental stimuli and regulate critical processes such as cell growth and differentiation. Interacting proteins like HDACs (histone deacetylases) further modulate the activity of MEF2A and MEF2C affecting their ability to regulate gene expression in response to various signals. This relationship is essential because it sustains the balance between activation and repression of target genes within these pathways.
