Product details

ab250540 is the carrier-free version of ab181872.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

MEF2BNB also known by the names MEF2-binding nuclear protein is a transcription factor that regulates gene expression. It has a molecular mass of approximately 70 kDa. MEF2BNB is widely expressed in various tissues including cardiac and skeletal muscle where it supports essential cellular functions. MEF2BNB interacts with DNA functioning in the transcriptional regulation of specific genes by modulating enhancer and promoter activities.
Biological function summary

MEF2BNB plays an important role in muscle differentiation and development. MEF2BNB forms a complex with other proteins aiding the assembly of transcriptional machinery at target gene sites. It influences the transcription of genes involved in cellular growth and apoptosis. In muscle cells MEF2BNB adjusts the balance between proliferation and differentiation affecting muscle fiber type specification and adaptation to physical stimuli.

Pathways

MEF2BNB integrates into the MAPK and calcium signaling pathways which regulate various aspects of cellular communication and response to external stimuli. It closely interacts with proteins such as MEF2A and MEF2D in these pathways. MEF2BNB influences gene expression downstream of these signaling cascades integrating signals that dictate cellular responses like growth differentiation and survival.

MEF2BNB shows connections to cardiac diseases and muscular dystrophies. Changes in MEF2BNB expression or function can lead to defective cardiac muscle remodeling contributing to heart failure. Additionally MEF2BNB's interaction with dystrophin links it to muscular dystrophy. Altered MEF2BNB activity can disrupt normal muscle repair and regeneration exacerbating disease conditions.

Target data

As part of the BORC complex may play a role in lysosomes movement and localization at the cell periphery. Associated with the cytosolic face of lysosomes, the BORC complex may recruit ARL8B and couple lysosomes to microtubule plus-end-directed kinesin motor.
