Product details

ab251124 is the carrier-free version of ab192254.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

MGST3 also known as Microsomal Glutathione S-Transferase 3 is an enzyme involved in the detoxification of electrophilic compounds. It has a molecular mass close to 17 kDa and resides in the endoplasmic reticulum's membrane. MGST3 displays high expression levels in liver and kidney tissues indicating a significant role in these detoxification centers. Together with other microsomal glutathione S-transferases it participates in reducing oxidative stress by conjugating glutathione to a wide range of substrates.
Biological function summary

MGST3 functions as part of a larger enzymatic complex and plays an essential role in xenobiotic metabolism. It protects cells from the toxic effects of various electrophilic compounds aiding the maintenance of cellular health. By facilitating the conversion of lipophilic substances into more water-soluble products MGST3 assists in cellular detoxification processes. This activity underlines the importance of MGST3 in maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing cellular damage.

Pathways

MGST3 integrates into the glutathione metabolism and arachidonic acid metabolism pathways. In the glutathione pathway MGST3's relationship with glutathione-dependent enzymes supports direct integration into the cell's detoxification processes. Additionally it connects with proteins involved in inflammation and oxidative stress response such as other glutathione S-transferases. By partaking in these pathways MGST3 contributes to the protection against oxidative damage and modulates inflammatory responses.

MGST3 shows relevance to conditions such as drug-induced liver injury and certain types of cancer. Changes in MGST3 expression affect hepatic cellular responses to toxic agents linking it to liver pathologies. In cancer aberrations in MGST3 expression correlate with resistance to chemotherapy making it an area of interest for therapeutic strategies. The enzyme's association with proteins like cytochrome P450 enzymes further implicates its involvement in the metabolic activation of potential carcinogens.

Target data

Displays both glutathione S-transferase and glutathione peroxidase activities toward oxyeicosanoids, as part of cellular detoxification as well as synthesis of bioactive metabolites (PubMed : 36370807, PubMed : 9278457). Catalyzes conjugate addition of reduced glutathione to the alpha, beta-unsaturated C=C carbonyl group of eisosanoids such as leukotriene A4 and 15-deoxy-Delta12,14-prostaglandin J2 to form GSH adducts relevant to the inflammatory response (PubMed : 36370807, PubMed : 9278457). Catalyzes glutathione-dependent reduction of eicosanoid peroxides to yield the corresponding eicosanoid hydroxides (PubMed : 9278457).
